Sky Realty Company Began

In 2005 my husband Greg and I decided to open up a real estate business. It was Greg's idea to sell some town homes he was developing and building. His dad became the broker, my mom became our main salesperson and associate broker and her task was to find a few agents to work with her. My job come up with the name, logo, register it, make a web site and forms, and start the accounting for it.
I gave it my all spending countless hours, thinking designing and creating. Greg worked hard on negotiating the details to make it all work with the owners of the development, and BJ was hard at work interviewing and seeking the perfect agents to work with her.
Our oldest daughter is Sky. Her name is just cool. How could we not be Sky Realty? I love everything about the name and the thought of her and the thought of the Sky is the limit in real estate.
We started.
Once I designed the final logo with ideas, help and suggestions from professionals, friends, and our 3 new agents the logo has remained and not changed.
Today we have 22 agents, an office space and produce about 300 million in sales a year. We operate like a large brokerage.
Let me go back a little bit further. I was 10 years old I will never forget I got to go in the car with my mother to show the million dollar house in Twin Falls, Idaho with her and her clients. I was so excited! This was the most expensive home in all of Twin Falls. I was told to be quiet in the car and let my mom talk with her clients and not bother her.
I had no problem quietly looking at every inch of the million dollar home. It was amazing! On the canyon in Twin Falls, so much space, so many upgrades. I had never seen anything like it. I just dreamt of being able to live in this home. I always dreamt of the homes my mom showed as being my own.
My mother, BJ, was one of the top producing agents at Gem State Realty in Twin Falls, Idaho. I  remember in my mind her working a lot. I also remember getting to go with her and go into her office and I was so proud of her. I could see she made people happy.
She had some clients from Laos and I got to go to one of their home blessings. A big Buddhist ceremony and blessing on the home took place. This was a new culture It was amazing to see a different culture and belief. I respected them and it was a memory I cherish.
Fast forward to my junior year in high school, my dad was diagnosed with cancer and was given a low chance of survival. He was sick and fighting with chemo & radiation.
We moved to Utah and he sold his Idaho Plumbing store and business. He too decided to get his real estate license. When he passed it was a great memory for me, a new chapter for us, and he survived cancer!
Real estate has always been in my blood. Greg got his license when graduating from BYU. He is a great agent. He was busy doing so many things I did so much of the work for him that I could do without a license. Two children later I decided I wanted to be able to put my name to some of the work I was doing and be able to do more. Pregnant with our third child I got my license in 2003.
My mom BJ is now the broker and I am the associate broker.
I have a real passion for real estate. I want others to enjoy it too. Since I have had my license it has been like a full time job income each year for us, setting my own hours, flexibility and being able to raise our five kids from home. Sometimes it's a little crazy and they don't enjoy going to showings as much as I remember enjoying it.
Last year our oldest daughter Sky, got her license. They cycle continues!
